After tons of research I’m going with the Glock 23. What is the best.40s&w ammo, and IWB holster?

iwb holster
rollz asked:

The gun will be carried concealed daily so I am looking for a suitable, comfortable holster, and what ammo is carried by LE. Was I right i assuming the 23c is not the best gun for concealment purposes.
I would be nice to read some thoughtful valid answers instead of the crap so far.
Especially concerning: ammo, IWB holsters, and the Compensated comparison. From current users of products. Thankyou

Well let see, as for Ammo, I use the Federal 147grain and it is great I have tested it with balistic gell and leaves a great wound channel. I know of a lot of Agencies that utilize it. I also like Hornady TAP in 167grain. And Lawman speer.

As far as a holster and concealment goes. Granter the boxy frame of a glock ins’t the most concealable pistol frame in the lot but I use my 22 and my 27 daily and concealment is easy if you plan for it. Such as wearing slightly bigger clothes and knowing wear to place your holster is the first thing to think of. If you plan on wearing a IWB then plan on wearing slightly bigger jeans or pants because it is going to add a waist size to you or it is going to stick out and be obvious. Regular holster are great for concealment as welt. Belt, and paddle holsters are great if you are going to be wearing an outside layer such as a coat or a jacket. NO SHOOTING VESTS!!! you might as well wear a sign that say “I am carrying a gun, ask me where”. But one of those and a coat are sufficient for concealment. Though you might want to put something with some weight gun side jacket pocket so the wind won’t reveal it.
As for great holster go, You can pay anywear between 30 to 140 dollars on a holster. Some of the holster that I prefer are the CQC serpa holster from Blackhawk.. which is a superb holster for the money. Also from CQC is their IWB which is a great and holster and a great price, however the one drawback is the portion that affixes to the belt is rather bulky, but with some ingenuity you can make it work. Another great company that is often overlooked is JS Holsters, they are primarily for glocks and they are great for concealment and you can get them for 50 dollars. The CQC, shop around online and you can get them for around 30$. Also, get a rigid belt and a magazine holster to carry a spare mag on your belt. NOT in your pocket, because if you have to actually use it you are going to fumbled getting it out of your pocket.
There ya go, best I can do.
Oh and train, train train train. too many people out there with CCW’s don’t train enough, take classes, take advanced classes take, gun retention classes. Gun’s only give a slight advantage, but they are merely tools. make yourself the weapon and try to not rely so much on the gun itself.

The compensated models have nothing yo do with concealment, the gun is the same size as the reg. model 23.I prefer the full size Glock model 22, and I carry it in a Fobus polymer paddle holster. It is loaded with 180 gr JHP ammo.
