As soon as he touched the ground, Jamie started running. He had no time to think, only one dominating thought sat in his mind. Run! The slam of the fire door had only caused momentary confusion, and the angry cop was soon hot on Jamie’s heels. He rounded the front of the building and sprinted past the entrance. Jamie vaulted over a steel barrier, taking out an old codger with a walking frame in the process. The copper tailed, gradually gaining ground.

Jamie soon reached the end of the carpark, and so diverted his course across the street towards a rusted bike rack, designed for use by the patrons of the small McDonalds outlet directly opposite. Jamie was relieved to find a muddy red GT chained to the rail. He fished a small penknife out from his side pocket, slowly sawing his way through the plastic chain, the officer now on the other side of the street. Frustrated, Jamie lashed out with his foot, snapping the weakened chain. A few people inside the shop craned their necks, or pushed their faces up to the glass, to get a better look at what was causing the commotion.

Behind Jamie the chasing cop was trying unsuccessfully to halt the traffic with his baton, and almost got flattened, when a dark Nissan sped past at over fifty miles an hour. Jamie wasted no time, jumping on the bike, mounting the curb in one clean movement, and pedaling off around the street corner.

As Jamie cycled, jumbled thoughts raced through his weary head. He was in deep trouble, by far the worst of his life. He wanted to stop, but his aching body struggled on. Jamie headed west, towards Chelsea. Over the last few years, Jamie had become accustomed to the bustling London streets, and so weaved confidently through the city.

Meanwhile, the chasing officer had slowed to a stop, abandoning his hopeless chase. His hand strayed towards his belt, clutching his radio transmitter from its holster. He raised it to his mouth, trembling slightly as he radioed his current position and situation to all available units in the area.

Jamie’s heart raced as he slid through a puddle and around another corner, the bikes loud freewheel startling a group of clubbers out of the gutter. The rain began to pelt down and bullet-like drops speared his sweaty flesh from above. Still Jamie cycled on, crossing a road and rolling over an overflowed drain before riding up the curb. He sped through another puddle, splashing water up the sides of his pants.

Further ahead Jamie spotted one of the many London tube stations, the domed structure glowing with fluorescent lights and the hum of electricity. Jamie quickly glanced down at his digital watch, the bright screen displaying 11:23pm.

He ditched the bike, jogged up the pavement and down the metal stairway, then strolled up to a ticket machine and purchased a Zone 2 ticket with some change from the cinema. Jamie stood at the end of the empty platform, the artificial air chilling his clammy skin to the bone. It seemed that no one had followed him down, but Jamie’s nerves still stood on edge. Even if the copper hadn’t continued the chase, he had probably called for a more mobile unit, who would be on his back in seconds. Jamie was relieved to hear the drone of an approaching train, the carriage pulling closer every second.

He boarded the train as soon as the doors parted, sliding into an empty seat at the front of the carriage. Jamie dropped the heavy backpack on the seat next to him as a prerecorded voice told him to, “Mind the gap”.
As the train finally pulled away from the station a burly forty year old, with thinning hair, slammed his fist into the glass door, demanding the train to stop.
“This is Michael Oliver, Chief Constable. I demand you to stop this train!” the cop panted, to no avail. As the train gained speed Jamie couldn’t resist flicking off the red faced copper, but the train had already rounded the bend and he only got a short glimpse at the man’s startled face.

Tactical Pants?

I'm looking for the tactical swat/special forces sort of pants look. Like where its a little baggy near the shoes/boots and the drop leg holster squeezes the thigh to make it look more tactical and theres also a bunch of pockets that make it look even cooler. I'm wondering what kind of pants would be best for this. I'm mainly afraid that the pants will look too short, not baggy enough, and/or too stiff.

Is it smart to conceal carry with one in the chamber?

With the other hand, I removed my sunnies and slip them into my shirt pocket. I then reached for my water bottle, which was only slightly colder than the surrounding midday air.

I imagined the bottle smoking with ice-cold vapour, and instead of plain boring water, it was beer. I gulped it down gratifyingly, and splashed some on my face and hair, as one would with cologne.

I picked the helmet up, held it in front of me, and reached for the chamois in the left side-box of the BMW. As I wiped the gunk off, I began to realise how peacful it was at that side road.

"Hmm, I should relax here a bit," I thought.

No sooner had I started enjoying the serenity than a faint sound of engine roar caught my ears. I looked here and there but did not see anything. I stood still and focused, then the sound became more apparent—it was coming from the far end of the road ahead.

I slipped my cleaned helmet on and rode slowly ahead. The roar became louder as the shrubs and trees that shrouded the sides of the road cleared behind me. Approaching ahead near a bend, was a raised earth platform—a potential construction site for a private housing estate. Although I couldn't see the source of the sound from the lower road level, a rising cloud of dust made obvious the sound came from above.

I stopped by the side of the road, removed my helmet and placed it on the BMW's seat. Then, I walked to the foot of slope, and struggled a climb up two meters. As my hands gripped the top edge of the slope, I pulled myself up just enough for a peek.

What I saw, boggled me—about thirty meters away, an old black 1953 Chevrolet was going around in circles.

"What's gon on here?" I remember muttering.

I tried to make out if the person driving was all right, but the sun's reflection on the Chevy's windows made it impossible. Nervous, but curious, I pulled myself over the slope and stood at the edge of the raised ground, in total view of the driver.

I peered hard at the circling black Chevy, hoping to get the driver's attention. I thought, if he saw a cop eyeing him, he would surely behave. But the Chevy kept circling and plunging clouds of red dust into the air.

The sight was one of madness, yet intriguing. My mind began to wander involuntarily; maybe, the driver had been shot dead—execution style—and his foot remained pressed down on the accelerator pedal; or maybe, some hoons were playing around with a stolen car; or maybe this, or maybe that. I forced myself to stop assuming, and gather courage to investigate.

The sheer sight of the old Chevy, with its grille solemn and the unlit headlights staring coldly, drove shuddering chills up my spine. But I am a cop, and it was my duty to investigate, so I stood my ground and peered harder through the Chevy windows. Occasionally, when the glass windows weren't reflecting the sun, I could manage a glimpse of two people with long hair sitting in the front seats.

"Were they girls," I wondered.

Tapping on the side of my waist, I gained slight confidence knowing my revolver was with me. I then walked nervously towards the madly circling Chevy.

Only a mere twenty meters had I walked when the Chevy suddenly stopped. It faced directly at me. Its headlights, though unlit, seemed to stare like eyes of a living creature. I froze. My heart pounded fiercely against my ribcage and trails of sweat trickled down my face. The Chevy's cold stare seemed to mock me to approach it. But I stood still, shook like a little boy, and wished I hadn't been so curious.

The last cloud of dust had drifted off to the right and was settling. I could see quite clearly the two people inside the car. They were not moving at all. I took a deep breath and mustered enough courage to yell.

“Step out of the car, please!”

The two heads remained still, not even a twitch. I was more nervous than ever.

In a sudden fit of fear, I screemed at the top of my voice.

“STEP OUT OF THE VEHICLE NOW!”

The Chevy's two doors opened abruptly and in accord. Instictively, my right hand went to my holster and clutched the revolver's handle.

Then, as slow as snails, the two figures stepped out and stood by the car, behind the opened doors, facing me.

They were "no hopers." They were big, and dark, and tall too, really tall. They could have been seven feet tall.

I swallowed the ball of saliva persistent in my throat, but kept easy. The last thing I wanted to show was a wussie cop before them. I was worried about what could happen next. What if they dashed forward and attacked me? What should I do? Do I open fire at them? What do I write in my report—that I met eerie black giants in a circling Chevy? It all sounded troppo.

I am looking at getting some out door gear and am looking for the best there is. Not by name brand or price, but by those who touch and use and know who is the best. I want items that will last a long time, take much abuse and not fall apart. I grew up around Snap on Tools so I know the name Kershaw and consider it good. Past that I have no clue about names nor brands.

I am looking for the following:

1 folding pocket/belt holster knife (4-5")
1 boot or shin strapped knife
1 good hatchet (so far Estwing is winning)

Please share your experiences with these items and which you found to be the best among the best.
