It is legal to wear a holstered gun that is concealed by a vest or any other garment if you have a Concealed Pistol License. By the way, open carry is legal in Michigan too. Thus, you can also openly display a holstered handgun without a Concealed Pistol License. In both cases, with a restricted permit, you are forbidden from visiting Pistol Free Zones while armed.

In most states, Concealed Carry Weapons Permits mean CONCEALED. In some states, flashing your weapon, intentionally or unintentionally can lead to loosing your license.

So if you are going to pack your Glock in a shoulder holster, without a jacket, buy your shirts a size or two larger and wear it under your shirt. Wearing shirts with snaps rather than buttons will make a quick draw easier, and you won’t have to sew buttons back on after every quickdraw practice.

In other words, don’t do it. Even if you don’t get in hot water with the cops, you will mark yourself as a target for badguys, who will shoot first and steal your gun and wallet when you are on the ground.

as already stated, you must make every effort to prevent your CCW firearm from being seen by the public. Flashing it while reaching for your wallet, carrying it in a holster or under a garment that does not “conceal” it is a sure way to get a cops pistol screwed in your ear while they take you down at gunpoint, as well as a sure ticket to losing your ccw. If the vest/holster combo does completely conceal the firearm and produces no “bulge” then it is OK. I can wear a black T shirt while wearing my compact .45 in an IWB holster and because of my body size, no one can see it. There is no set rule for what clothing or holster you can wear, just as long as it conceals it.

Vest?
Kevlar or regular vest like a sweater vest?

In Texas it is a crime for a felon to posses body armor
It is a crime to have body armor on while committing a crime (go figure)

It is not illegal in Texas to wear body armor, and they do not require a permit to buy it or wear it.

YES there is nothing in the 2nd Amendment about permits, ccw’s, shoulder holster, or vest.** The Right to Keep and Bear* Arms.** All this crap about you need permits, open carry, concealed carry, Fees etc. is Unconstitutional, whether by Federal, State, County, or Local Laws or Regulations to pervert the 2nd Amendment.*

Put on the outfit you plan to wear and look in a mirror. Is the gun concealed? If yes, good to go. If not, try a jacket and look again. As to being charged with brandishing, not according to Jennifer Grandholm’s written opinion when she was Attorney General. Read page 202 and 203 of your “Firearms Laws of Michigan” book.

As long as the vest covers the gun and holster. If it doesn’t you can be charged with “brandishing” even if you have a CCW in Michigan.

I don’t know what the gun laws are in Michigan or Detroit,gun laws vary from state to state and city to city.Where I live in Pa it would be legal.

In my state, the CCW (CHL here) laws state that you may carry in any manner which your firearm stays concealed from view and does not produce a telling bulge which leaves it only covered but not concealed.
