I want either an inside-the-waistband or a pocket holster. Obviously, this is my CCW gun. I'd prefer not to spend a lot of money trying out holsters, so which one works best for you?

I've found a front pocket holster to be my best choice of carry for my S&W J Frame. It's almost always accessible (even for being seated in the car), and I can carry it with me almost anywhere without being noticed. Some holster makers offer both a front and rear pocket model, but I found the rear pocket model to be too bulky with a J frame. Front pocket works great for me with either jeans, khakis, or cargo shorts.

You might want to take a look at the new Ruger LCP .380 as it's really nice. I had the chance to test fire one when they were first released, and I was really impressed. I prefer it over my Kel-Tec P3-AT, and I'm on a waiting list to get one.

As far as pocket holsters go for an LCP, Ruger is reporting that it will fit the same holster as a Kel-Tec P3-AT 2nd Generation. Here are a couple of Ruger LCP holsters that are available now:
