Introduced by Kel-Tec in 2003, the Kel-Tec P-3AT is basically a .380 version of the ever popular Kel-Tec P-32. The P-3AT is nearly the same size as the P-32, but is chambered for the more powerful .380 cartridge. The P-3AT magazine will carry 6 rounds so the weapon will carry 6+1 total.
like the P-32, the P-3AT features a polymer frame with a steel slide. The P-3AT is also avaialbe in a number of variations that inlcude a slide that comes either blues, parkerized, or in a matte chrome. In addition to black, the ploymer frame is also avaialbe in a grey, navy blue, or olive drab color.
The Kel-Tec P-3AT is currnetly in it’s 2nd generation of production. in 2006, Kel-Tec made some slight design changes and released the P-3AT in a 2nd generation. Although simialr, the first generation and 2nd generation are slightly different and won’t generally won’t fit the same holster. The 1st generation model has a more round slide versus the 2nd generation that has a more squared slide. The 2nd generation version also has a hex screw to the rear of the extractor.
The P-3AT is an outstanding back-up weapon for law enforcement or concealed carry weapon for civilians.
