Introduced by Sturm Ruger in 2004, the P345 was somewhat based on the ever popular Ruger P-series weapons. Designed to target law enforcement and civilians, the P345 features a number of advancements over the standard P series including:
- An integrated key lock that locked the weapon in a safe mode
- A loaded chamber indicator
- A magazine disconnect that would prohibit the weapon from firing if the magazine was removed
Featuring a polymer frame and steel slide, the P345 is fairly ergonomic with a good weight to mass ratio. Chambered for the .45 ACP, the P345 holds 8+1 rounds in a single stack magazine.
